VENEERS
In Nixa, MO

Veneers are actually one of the oldest cosmetic dentistry procedures, first invented in 1928. If you have stained, chipped, cracked, misaligned teeth, or gaps in your teeth, veneers are a great solution to quickly improve your smile.

Porcelain veneers can give you a drastically brighter and more even smile in a single visit! That’s why you see so many Hollywood celebrities with them. Crowns and bridges can also be used for this purpose when teeth require more comprehensive treatment.

Veneers are also a great alternative to whitening, because they:

  1. Last much longer (even professional whitening treatments still need done every 2-3 years at least)
  2. Get results much faster than whitening
  3. Are stain-resistant

What To Expect

Nixa Dental patient choosing veneers

Veneers work by placing a thin layer of porcelain over the front portion of a tooth, and bonding it with dental cement. We will use an ultraviolet light to harden the bond, and then you’re ready to walk out the door with a brand new smile. Most patients experience no pain or discomfort during the procedure at all.

They are permanent, and generally last 5, 10, and sometimes 20 years. Not chewing hard objects (like pens or fingernails), combined with brushing and flossing regularly, as well as getting regular 6-month checkups, will help your veneers last for decades. Tooth decay (cavities) are the main cause of veneers falling off!

A variety of shades, materials, and translucency are also possible. These smiles are designed and hand-finished by Dr. Sutherland, with your input throughout the process. And don’t worry, she will match the veneer to the color of your existing teeth.

To see if you’re a good candidate for veneers, Dr. Sutherland will perform an X-ray. This will help her identify any tooth decay, gum disease, or need for root canals. If any issues are present, veneers might not be a good solution for you.
