Expanded Function Dental Assistant
Hello, I’m Amy and I have loved being in dentistry since 1987. As the only child of Dr. Michael and Susie Butterfield you could also say I have been in dentistry my whole life.
I have had the pleasure of serving at the front office, hygiene department and operative as well as knowing abundant laboratory skills. My favorite position is that of Expanded Function Dental Assistant where I get to learn and then educate patients about excellent dental choices. It’s exciting to see patients bloom with their beautiful smiles and help them learn how to care for their dental health for a lifetime.
Raised in Nixa, I married my best friend Ed and we have raised our kids into fine adults. I love canning, kayaking and my pets!
Dr. Michael K. Butterfield started the first dental practice in Nixa in 1977. Dr. Sutherland was actually a patient of Dr. Butterfield’s while she lived in Springfield, performed job shadowing at this very office, and Dr. Butterfield even wrote her letter of recommendation for dental school. Dr. Sutherland was incredibly happy to be able to return to this area and join the Nixa Dental family. We are very proud of our deep roots in our community and our strong personal relationships with our patients.
